Employee Engagement & Events

Getting your colleagues engaged in your workplace campaign is the key to success!

How do you get your coworkers involved?

A great campaign takes more than a great team

In order to run a great workplace campaign, you need to get your coworkers, volunteers and management engaged. This section of the Virtual Campaign Toolkit will help you run in-person and online engagement activities connected to United Way Simcoe Muskoka’s work in our communities.

But why should you get your coworkers engaged during this campaign?

  1. Increased awareness of local issues
  2. Improved employee retention and increased team morale.
  3. Hands-on volunteering in the community
  4. A more successful workplace campaign and more lives changed as a result!

Share donor stories

Hearing a personal story from a United Way donor or program recipient is an excellent way for employees and donors to learn how their contribution helps unlock the potential of the most vulnerable in our communities.

Create a Day of Caring for your organization

A Day of Caring is a United Way staple event where you and your coworkers spent a day or part of a day helping a local organization through volunteering. To get started on a Day of Caring, get in touch with your Relationship Manager or check out the DIY Guide we created for our Virtual Day of Caring.

Go on a Virtual Agency Tour

One of the best ways to help people understand the impact of their gift is to go on an Agency Tour of an agency funded by United Way Simcoe Muskoka and donors like you. With current safety measures, we have taken these tours online in a virtual format, so click the link below to see the Virtual Agency Tours we have available.

Run or join an event

Running an event in your workplace is a great way to get colleagues engaged and to put the fun back in FUNdraising. When planning a special event, you must make sure it is a good balance of these three core components:

  1. Fun – Will your event boost engagement, build enthusiasm and bring your clients together?
  2. Fundraising – Is your event designed to raise donations? Will you need to offset any expenses for the event?
  3. Awareness – Will this event highlight your campaign, United Way Simcoe Muskoka and your company’s values?

Keep these components in mind will ensure that you run a great special event to help your campaign! If you need some special event ideas, check out the link below to our Virtual Event Ideas Guide.
